Donation Transparency, Voting & Legal Disclaimer
At Democratees, we believe in full transparency. Every eligible sale is tracked, receipts are posted publicly, and the community votes on where the money goes. Here's exactly how it works — and what you're agreeing to when you participate.
How Donations Work
- $5 from every eligible shirt purchase is allocated to the winning organization from that month's ballot.
- Donations are tallied throughout the calendar month.
- The community votes on which featured nonprofit receives that month's donation pool.
- Funds are disbursed to the winning organization no later than the 5th of the following month.
- Payout totals and confirmation are shared publicly for accountability.
Community Voting
- Voting is open to anyone who submits a valid email address through the monthly vote form.
- One vote per email address per monthly mission.
- By submitting your vote, you agree to receive email communications from Democratees, including mission updates, Impact Drop announcements, and community news.
- You may unsubscribe at any time. We don't spam. We just bring the receipts.
- Votes are used solely to determine which featured organization receives that month's donation pool. Vote totals are displayed publicly.
- Democratees reserves the right to disqualify fraudulent, duplicate, or automated votes.
Donation Eligibility
- Donations are calculated from the net sale of individual t-shirts, excluding taxes, discounts, or other product types unless otherwise noted.
- Orders that are canceled, refunded, or fraudulent may be excluded from donation totals.
- If a featured nonprofit becomes unable or ineligible to receive funds (e.g. status changes, issues with payment processing), Democratees reserves the right to redirect the donation to a similar organization aligned with that month's mission theme.
Legal Disclosures
- Democratees is a for-profit business, not a nonprofit or charity.
- Donations are made directly by Democratees to the featured organizations — customer purchases are not tax-deductible.
- Featured organizations are selected based on mission alignment and public reputation. Democratees is not formally affiliated with or endorsed by the listed nonprofits unless explicitly stated.
- By voting or submitting your email through any form on this site, you consent to receive marketing and mission-related emails from Democratees. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
